I forbid Beijing.

Chinglish is everywhere. Every shop is wishing customers a “Marry Christmas”, or a “Merry Christmas 2007″. An english menu is an excellent source of entertainment. Even the major highways every so often mark an “EXTI”, and hilariously have signs like “Forbid to drive drunk”.
We went to visit the Forbidden City. I won’t go into any of the details of the history, but it is directly to the north of Tian’anmen Square, and is huuggge. Massive. It had stopped snowing earlier in the day, so the scenery was pretty, the weather freezing, and the walkways slippery.
We spent about 3 hours wandering around, stopping to take photos and to have the obligatory coffee at the Starbucks inside the Forbidden city. How is that! Whats more than the very manifestation of capitalism on display inside one of the biggest tourist attractions in communist China, they only sell the largest size coffee. One size of coffee cup, one (huge) price, full of americans drinking coffee through straws. It was fun, but really cold.

The moving of snow is a big business.

Meanwhile, pictures of snow in Beijing, around the train station.
